Nehemiah 3 teaches us about community. It's about people from all walks of life coming together to begin building the wall to rebuild Jerusalem. When you look deeper in the chapter, you notice three things:

Once Nehemiah got approval from the king to leave and go rebuilt Jerusalem's walls, he came up against other oppositions of enemies who didn't want him to be successful, but also opposition from God's people themselves because they were so discouraged and weary already. He had to remind them of who they were and encourage them to join him in the work. This wasn't an easy task, but it shows the kind of leader God made Nehemiah to be, and we can learn some things through this part of the story.

I want to remind you today of your identity and who you are in Christ so that you can ARISE.

Perfectionism is one thing that really prevents us from moving forward with our goals or with our businesses. It can stop us in our tracks and become an excuse for why we haven’t really truly made the effort to achieve our goals. 

Do it imperfectly. Done is better than perfect.

We need to illuminate the lies we’re believing underneath the perfectionism we’re displaying, we need to get to the root, so that we can overcome this stronghold in our life. When we let go of perfectionism, we can move into the freedom God has called us to.

We are called to pray fervently, and God is and will be working in the background, but we have a role to play too. Waiting is an action verb. In waiting for the Lord's answers or the, "Yes, go!" we can be planning what the next steps are, and, along the way, God will confirm them (or change them). We need to be in motion for God to move us in the direction he wants us to go.

Fervent prayer + proper planning + getting in motion where you are now + being attentive and flexible = allowing God to lead your life and business
